Pre-Season Rankings

QB

Tier 1

1. Tom Brady
With the numbers he put up last year and the weapons he has around him, he's clearly in  a league of his own

Tier 2

2. Peyton Manning

3. Drew Brees
Put up huge numbers despite rocky first 4 weeks, led the league in pass attempts last year and should explode again this year
4. Tony Romo
5. Carson Palmer

Tier 3

6. Matt Hasselbeck
Consistent fantasy producer that won't ever put up huge numbers but won't ever kill you
7. Ben Roethlisberger

Tier 4

8. Derek Anderson
9. Donovan McNaab

10. Marc Bulger
Despite terrible year last year, has the most potential upside of any quarterback this low.  If the Rams can keep their line healthy all year and Steven Jackson has a big year expect Bulger to be a steal in most fantasy drafts
11. Jay Cutler
12. Matt Schaub
13. Brett Favre

Tier 5

14. Jake Delhomme
15. David Garrard
16. Eli Manning

17. Aaron Rodgers
Rodgers can step into fantasy football stardom this year if he can stay healthy and be more consistent
18. Phillip Rivers
19. Jon Kitna

Tier 6

20. Jason Campbell
21. Matt Leinart

22. JT O'Sullivan
Could be in for a breakout year under new offensive coordinator Mike Martz and his pass-happy offense, however it may be Shaun Hill or Alex Smith and not O'Sullivan benefitting from Martz's offensive prowess.
23. Jeff Garcia
24. Vince Young
25. Kurt Warner

Tier 7

26. JaMarcus Russell

27. Trent Edwards
Could be a good late round flier and bye week fill-in
27. Kyle Boller
28. Tavaris Jackson
29. Kyle Orton
30. Matt Ryan
WR

Tier 1

1. Randy Moss

2. Reggie Wayne
Maybe a controversial pick as the #2 receiver but has earned it.  Good for 7 catches, 100 yards and a TD every week and has become Peyton Manning's favorite target

Tier 2

3. Terrell Owens
4. Andre Johnson
5. TJ Houshmandzadeh
6. Marques Colston
7. Larry Fitzgerald

8. Torry Holt
Many books have him as low as #15, but coming off yet another 1,000 yard season with no QB and no offensive line, it's hard to believe he won't improve on last year's totals
9. Steve Smith
10. Braylon Edwards
11. Chad Johnson

Tier 3

12. Wes Welker
Tom Brady's checkdown receiver, will surpass 100 catches yet again this season.  Expect similar numbers to last year with less TDS, extremely valuable in PPR leagues.
13. Anquan Boldin
14. Brandon Marshall
15. Roy Williams
16. Plaxico Burress
17. Marvin Harrison

Tier 4

18. Santonio Holmes
19. Donald Driver

20. Roddy White
Could emerge as top 10 receiver by the end of the year if he gets consistent play at quarterback.  Coming off his first 1,000 yard season he will only continue to get better
21. Hines Ward
22. Dwayne Bowe
23. Greg Jennings
24. Kevin Curtis

Tier 5

25. Bobby Engram
26. Chris Chambers
27. Lee Evans
28. Calvin Johnson
29. Laveranues Coles
30. Jerry Porter

31. Javon Walker
Huge question mark going into this season, has just as good of a chance of being the sleeper of the draft as he does of being the bust of the draft.
32. Jerricho Cotchery
33. Joey Galloway
34. Santana Moss
35. Reggie Brown
36. Vincent Jackson
37. DJ Hackett

Tier 6

38. Bernard Berrian
39. Eddie Royal
40. Patrick Crayton
41. Issac Bruce
42. Anthony Gonzalez
43. Ronald Curry

44. Derrick Mason
Could be a late round steal in most drafts.  Don't expect him to match the 103 catches he had last year but should be good for 85 catches and 900 yards.  Very valuable in PPR Leagues
45. Donte Stallworth

Tier 7

46. Mark Clayton
47. Sidney Rice
48. Josh Morgan

49. Nate Burleson
With all the question marks surrounding Deion Branch, expect Burleson to start opposite Bobby Engram for the Seahawks.  He has great speed a lot of potential in Seattle's pass-friendly offense
50. Courtney Taylor

RB

Tier 1

1. LaDainian Tomlinson
2. Brian Westbrook

3. Steven Jackson
Despite being hurt last year and a terrible offensive line, Jackson still ran for 1,000 yards.  With a healthy QB and O-line expect his stat line to look similar to '06.  Keep an eye on his holdout though and move him down slightly on your boards until he signs

Tier 2

4. Adrian Peterson

5. Joseph Addai
Most consistent back on the board, pretty much a guaranteed 100 total yards and 1 TD a game but doesn't have a high ceiling
6. Marion Barber
7. Frank Gore

Tier 3

8. Clinton Portis
9. Willis McGahee

10. Marshawn Lynch
Could emerge as a tier 2 back if everything goes right.  With his legal troubles behind him, Lynch will lead the upstart Bills and may also lead the NFL in carries
11. Larry Johnson
12. Jamal Lewis
13. Ryan Grant

Tier 4

14. Michael Turner
15. Maurice Jones-Drew
16. Ronnie Brown

17. Reggie Bush
Dynamic player but his 2.7 YPC last year was anything but impressive.  Can still be a useful option but a possible RBBC with Pierre Thomas could cut into his value.  Bush is a top 10 back in PPR leagues however
18. Thomas Jones
19. Edgerrin James
20. Julius Jones

Tier 5

21. Darren McFadden
22. Brandon Jacobs
23. Laurence Maroney

24. Earnest Graham
Not a flashy pick but gets the job done.  He's the starting running back in a run-heavy offense and will be a viable #2 Fantasy Running back
25. Matt Forte
26. Selvin Young
27. Ahman Green
28. Kevin Smith

Tier 6

29. Fred Taylor
The Jaguars workhorse, will go much later than Jones-Drew but has similar value.  Taylor has a history of getting better as the season goes on, and while he may not score that many touchdowns, will put up a solid 100 total yards per week
30. Willie Parker
31. Chester Taylor
32. Chris Johnson
33. LenDale White
34. DeAngelo Williams
35. Jonathan Stewart
36. Justin Fargas

Tier 7

37. Rashard Mendenhall
38. Chris Brown

39. Tatum Bell
Despite the Kevin Smith hype, Bell will still get some carries and if he can live up to his potential, will be a solid #3 back in most fantasy formats.
40. Kevin Jones
