What do you guys think about Tyler Thigpen is he the real deal or what?
-Ben Chicago IL
Well Ben we feel that Thigpen could be a great QB to have on your team and might be the missing piece to many teams and their quest for the championship. He has some very favorable matchups in the upcoming weeks so don't hesitate to start him over someone that might be struggling or has a bad matchup cause now in the season its all about the week to week matchup rather than what happened the whole season.
I have the Tennesse Defense right now but looking at their matchups for the playoffs and they dont seem that good. Would you guys look to pick up the Miami or New England or New York Giants.
Dale Scottsdale
Well Dale personal i would go from here on out week by week with matchups however you have to think ahead of other people in your league and pick up a defense before everyone else thinks about picking them up. Yes i agree with you that Tennesees matchups arnt that good but you have to weight what is best for your team and what kind of scoring you get for you team.

What is going on with LJ?
Steve Miami FL
You guess is as good as ours. He has been having some personal problems and doesnt look like he is gonig to be playing for a couple of weeks. SO i would look to find other options, maybe Tim Hightower, or Perrie Thomas or Ryan Torrian might be someone you could fill in for him in the long run of the season.

Great site Guys cant wait for the season to start Thursday Night. Which TE should I start week 1 Vernon Davis or Zack Miller as my number 2 i have Gates as my number 1 TE?
-Will Seattle WAS
Thanks Will, 2 TE leagues are tough because most number 2 starting TE are not going to put up big numbers but with have Vernon Davis and Zack Miller as options your not in that bad of a spot. Week one I would have to go with Zack Miller vs the Denver for the simple fact that Vernon Davis is going up against the Cardinals and is going to have Adrian Wilson covering him and is going to have a hard time getting open. Don't forget also that Zack Miller was a rookie last year and still caught over 40 balls and so far in pre season him and Russell have been on the same page and have connect on a couple nice catches.
Got a Flex question start either James Hardy vs SEA or Sidney Rice @ GB or DeShawn Jackson Thanks
-Martin Buffalo, NY
Martin both of the first two options are very risky because of the offenses that they play in both are run first ones and really don't have great play out of there WR plus neither are there go to guys. However Deshawn Jackson has become the best WR so far in the rookie class. He seems to fit well into the Eagles offense and with the injury to Kevin Curtis, Jackson looks to be a factor week 1 because of his blazing speed and ability to make people miss. I would have to stay start Jackson because he has the most upside and would be a great Flex play week one against an average defense in the Rams.

I love the site guys, it's my favorite fantasy site!!! I have a quick question for you guys, I'm in a standard league with no PPR, who should I start week 1, Reggie Bush against Tampa Bay or Kevin Smith vs. Atlanta?
-Harry Louisville, KY
That's a really tough one Harry, I personally like Kevin Smith against the Falcons. I expect this to be a low scoring grind-it-out game which is why I think Kevin Smith will be a big factor and could possibly go for 100 yards. I think Bush would be the answer in a PPR league but because of your scoring format Kevin Smith would be the better choice.
What's up guys, pick 2 of these 4 receivers for me to start week 1, Roddy White vs. DET, Lee Evans vs. SEA, Donald Driver vs. MIN, and Eddie Royal vs. OAK?
-Jerry Los Angeles, CA
I'm going to assume you are in a normal scoring format and if so I think Roddy White is no question one of the two you should start, the guy looked dynamic at the end of last year and looked great in the pre-season, it appears him and Matt Ryan have really made a connection. The second one is pretty tough, I think I would go for Donald Driver vs. Minnesota because at least Driver is consistent and will get you a solid 70 yards receiving where with Evans and Royal you aren't sure what you are going to get.

What's up guys? I absolutely love your site. I just had my draft and I got Favre, Schaub and Aaron Rodgers. I'm looking to trade one of them for a solid receiver but I'm not sure which one has the most value, can you guys help me out.
-Trent Green Bay, WI
We appreciate the love Trent and as for your QB situation I think Favre is the guy you want to ship off. Favre's value is extremely high right now after his pre-season showing and with good QBS in Schaub and Rodgers you can more than afford to give him up.
Hey guys, love the site. You recently answered one of my qts on your site and i had one more for you. In a 10 man keeper i have Adrian Peterson and the #3 pickoverall. (keepers- RBS- Lewis, Peterson, Barber, Portis, Grant QBS- Romo, Brady, Brees WRS- Moss, Welker) . At pick three im hoping for Westbrook, but if he goes #2, who should i target at #3? Addai (consistancy) St. Jackson (contract) or Lynch (upside).. Plan on having A.P, one of the 3 mentioned rbs, and 2 top wrs with picks 2 and 3. Also, like thomas jones and would consider him in the 3rd (we start a flex) if he's there. Thanks in advance again.
-Ryan Alexandria, LA
Hey Ryan, I think that Steven Jackson should definitely be your pick at #3. I love Lynch but I think that might be a little too early for him. Obviously the holdout is no longer a problem for S Jax as he will be reporting to camp today and that makes him definitely the pick there. With your 2nd and 3rd round picks I would try to target two top tier receivers like Colston and Houshmandzadeh, and I also think Thomas Jones would be a great flex position player with his re-built offensive line.
I was offered a trade in my $500 per person fantasy keeper league and I'm not sure if I should do it, I was offered Westbrook and Lavarnues Coles for Marshawn Lynch and Torry Holt.
-Emma Omaha, NE
Hey Emma, that is a very interesting deal because of how great of a player Westbrook is but overall it will hurt your team. The difference in fantasy value between Torry Holt and Coles is much greater than the difference between Westbrook and Lynch so I would sit tight.

Hey guys, currently have the 12th pick in a 12 man league (non keeper). Our league employs the reverse draft 1-12, 12-1, the 12-1 instead of 1-12 again. So at pick 12 i have pick 12, 13, and 25. Any suggestions on how to attack this draft? Won the league last year with good waiver wire adds. I'm leaning Moss (if available), if not Lynch/Grant/etc and come back with Brees if available. (4 pts per td pass, 6 per td rush/rec) I pts per 75 passing, 1 pt per 25 rushing/receiving
-Ryan Alexandria, LA
I think you should definitely take Lynch with your pick at 12 and come back with a receiver at 13, clearly Moss would be preferable but if he's not there don't hesitate to take TO or Wayne. I think if you can get a guy like Brees in the 3rd round and come back with a RB like Thomas Jones or Earnest Graham in the 4th you will be in great shape. I've never been an advocate of back to back running backs in the 1st and 2nd round so I would take a receiver with one of the picks and just get yourself a good #2 RB later.
I have the first pick of the third round in a 10 team league, I am looking at either Andre Johnson, TJ Houshmanzadeh or Braylon Edwards there, which WR would you guys take?
-Jared Atlanta, GA
I am not a big Edwards fan so it's between Housh and AJ for me. Housh is the consistent player that will get you 80 yards and a TD every game and Andre Johnson is more of a high risk/ high reward receiver that could be the best receiver in the league if he can just stay healthy. I like consistency so I would take Housh, but Johnson would also not be a bad pick there.

I have McNaab and Bulger on my roster, they play each other week 1, who should I start?
-Jonathan Des Moines, IA
Both of these guys will probably have good week 1's but I would lean towards McNaab because of how bad the Rams secondary is. Bulger will probably be your #1 option for the rest of the year but I go with McNaab week 1.
Who's the best tight end in fantasy, Jason Witten or Antonio Gates?
-Jerome Atlanta, GA
I think Witten proved last year that he's clearly the best fantasy option at Tight end. Witten's consistency and number of catches in the high powered Dallas offense makes him better than Gates.
I drafted Steve Smith and Brandon Marshall so I am clearly in trouble for the first 2 weeks of the season. Should I trade them and get less value then they are worth or do you guys have some good sleeper wide receivers for me to pick up?
Aaron El Paso, TX
I wouldn't trade Smith and Marshall unless you are getting good value in return for them. If you are looking at waiver wire receivers you could take a flyer on Deion Branch and hope that he plays week 1 or go for a safer bet like Muhsin Muhammed, Chad Jackson, or Amani Toomer
July 29, 2008
What are your guys feeling on whats going to happen to Brandon Marshall ?
-Glenn Erie, Pa
Well Glenn it is tough to say at this point i have been hearing anywhere from 4-8 games and if they go down hard on him and do 8 games that really doesn't give him much fantasy value at all and will hurt Jay Cutler as well. At this point I'm feeling a 5 game suspension will be handed down to Mr Marshall.
Do you guys think that having Leinart in at QB will hurt Boldin and Fitz?
-Bill Tempe, AZ
No Bill I don't really feel that it is going to hurt them because if Leinart struggles they will pull him and will use Warner so they are going to be in a good situation to produce this year.

I am currently in a keeper league and am only able to keep two players i have Tom Brady which i am going to keep but not sure on the other i have Jamal Lewis, Reggie bush , Torry Holt and Chad Johnson? Its a PPR league as well...
-Josh Miami, Fl
Josh first off Tom Brady is easy pick but between the others i would have to go with either Reggie Bush or Chad Johnson since its a PPR league Reggie Bush's value goes up a ton and i feel would be a great 1 2 punch with Brady.
I saw your experts mock draft and noticed that Laurence Maroney went in the 2nd round, is he really worth a second round pick? By the way you guys definitely have the best team!!
-Jimmy Lawrence, KS
Thanks a lot for the compliment Jimmy, we really like our team too and the answer to your question is absolutely no, Maroney will not score TDs and will be splitting carries with Kevin Faulk and Sammy Morris. Don't be afraid to take Maroney in the 4th round, but I would rather have a full time running back like Edgerrin James or Thomas Jones instead of Maroney.
Who might be a sleep TE that i might be able to pick up late in the draft since i start 2 in my league?
-Dale Pittsgrove NJ
Interesting question Dale we really like Ben Utecht who signed with the Cincinnati Bengals this off season and feel he might be a late round player that is going to get a decent amount of looks in a pass first offense.
Thanks for the questions this week and good luck in any upcoming drafts.

I have the second pick in a PPR league what should i do?
-Ben Chicago IL
Well Ben since you are in a PPR league i would def. look to grab Brian Westbrook he is the complete package and will get you points as a receiver and as a running back as well. However if he goes number 1 then i would look to take LT cant go wrong with picking him either.
I am in a keep league and am able to keep one player but not sure who either Roy Williams, Ryan Grant, Reggie Wayne, or Derek Anderson?
-Steven Dallas, Texas
This seems like a pretty easy pick for me Steven i would go with Reggie Wayne, unless you have a high point total giving to running backs. I think many people have woken up and seen how great Reggie Wayne is and he should be the second WR take off the board in many fantasy drafts this year.
Keep sending email and we will try our best to answer your questions. Thanks

I have the #5 pick overall, assuming the first 4 picks are LT, Peterson, Brady, and Westbrook, who should I take at #5?
- Terry San Francisco, CA
Assuming that the first 5 picks go according to script, I think Steven Jackson is the best available player. Many people would want to go with Gore or Addai here, but I think a revamped Rams offense will allow Steven Jackson to run for 1300 yards and catch about 70 passes.
I want to load up my first 6 or 7 rounds with running backs and receivers, if I wait until the 8th or 9th round to take a QB, which quarterback should I take?
- Jerel Gary, IN
I don't know if I necessarily agree with your draft strategy Jerel, but if you are sold on that strategy a guy like Matt Schaub or Aaron Rodgers would probably be a good fit for your team. Both guys have a lot of upside and could definitely benefit your fantasy team if you want to wait a little later for a QB.
I have the #1 pick in my draft, is LT the consensus #1 pick or should I consider drafting Adrian Peterson?
- Brad Erie, PA
I truly do not believe LT is the consensus #1 pick, but if you don't pick LT I wouldn't take Peterson. Peterson's history of injury really scares me away from him so early but I would definitely consider Brady at #1 depending on your league's scoring format. If your league gives QBs 6 points for TDS or any kind of Point per completion, I think Brady is the #1 pick followed closely by LT
